Lupini Construction, Inc. Hosts their Annual Technical & Safety Meetings

Posted: 2/13/2017

Lupini Construction hosted their annual Technical and Safety Meetings on February 9th and 10th, 2017, to continue education for their skilled craftsmen in various aspects of the masonry trade.

On February 9th, the 11th annual Technical Meeting featured presentations by Michael Edison of Edison Coatings, Sarah Hunter from Prosoco, Michelle Perez from Gladding McBean, and Lupini's own Chuck Howgate and Loren Lenaghen.

Michael Edison delivered an expansive presentation on the various historical repairs Edison Coating has been involved in over the years, as well as demonstrated proper grouting procedures and technique.

Sarah Hunter discussed the different stains that could affect various substrates commonly observed in the masonry field and the proper ways to diagnose and clean them.

Michelle Perez examined the process of restoring terra cotta including showing how it is fabricated at Gladding McBean's facilities.

Chuck and Loren each presented project profiles on the West Point MacArthur Long Barracks Restoration and the Hotel Syracuse Restoration respectively.

February 10th saw Lupini Construction's 28th annual Safety Meeting.

The Safety Meeting is used to discuss updated Lupini Construction safety policies and refresh the men on other aspects of industry-specific safety.

Lupini Construction's Andy Turner discussed proper ways to mitigate the dangers associated with working around silica dust and Lupini's masons were trained in the proper use of various aerial lifts brought in by NES Rentals.
